App icons seem to be everywhere at the moment, so i thought id try an Oolite version.

Suggestions for changes/improvements would be appreciated.

Ive recreated my previous icon as a complete vector image, it will make it easier to scale it up and down.

14x14px? More like 61x61... Anyways, when I compare to the other icons on my screen that seems small enough. I would get rid of the grey border though, that would give a little more room when you go to e.g. 64x64 (which, I believe, is the standard size on my setup at least).

BTW, when does the competition end? Can we vote already? ;-)

According to the image properties - they're 134x132 and 61x61 respectively... :?

I just took a look at the first page of this thread to see the actual rules. So the icon has to scale down to 16x16 but can be hand-tuned.

In that case I would consider removing the text from the icon as that cannot be read anymore. Also the shadows and planet glow might need to go and it will probably still require some pixel tweaking after exporting to png.

It would be good to find out what the minimum size that still looks good as a direct export from the vector version is. Probably 128x128 in this case, 64x64 would already need removal of the text IMHO.
