Just got round to downloading this (sorry, I can be a bit slow off the mark).

Deepspace you're a genius. My shaderless ooniverse looks fantastic now, many thanks. :D

The Gallery just shows how stunning DeepSpace's work is - a boon to anybody who finds themselves unable to run shaders on their gfx card.

Amazing, just how much more detailed the original classic shapes look with these textures.

Deepspace and override of built in ships.

Post by Gimi »

I really like the variety we now have in the classic Elite (Oolite) ships with Griff's package, the Deepspace Ships package and more. (As far as I am concerned they complement each other)

Now here comes my question. I have both installed, and use the "no override" patch for Deepspace Ships. All is well so far, and I see both packages in game. However I also see the original built inn textures in the game. Is there a way to make Deepspace Ships only override the built inn ships while letting everything else be chosen by random so that I can enjoy the variety provided by the different OXP's out there.

I have not tried to use Deepspace Ships without the anti override patch. Will running Deepspace in it's original form allow other OXP's such as Griff's ships to show.

One last note to Deepspace. I think it would be a good idea to include short installation instructions and a description in both Deepspace and the anti-override patch. The override patch comes as an OXP (.oxp folder in zip-file), and file names inside are not a one to one replacement, so it can be confusing. (seperate OXP to prevent override or copy into Deepspace). I know they have the same name and that a copy will overwrite, but it had me stumped for a short while as I am very careful, having burnt my fingers, when "do you want to overwrite" comes up while working with OXP's.

Lastly, really good work, and even more impressive considering you are using the original models.

:D Ive been waiting on this for quite a while. After returning from the dark side (FFE) I noticed the website in your sig. I really like the look of the ships, as well as it covering pretty much everything model wise, and the retrohud is my new favorite. Thanks for taking the time to release this! I'll be using it for a while to come.

Right on Commander!

I love those textures, really nice for those without shader support. Good work :-)

The Retro HUD looks great too, but I had to change one thing to make it work. I had to rename "Base.png" to "base.png" - it's not the same on some systems. ;-)

Running Linux? It's case sensitive, more than other OS's. :)
