I looked for this thread using the search tool as soon as I saw the Cafepress link in the website but didn't find it (the search tool in the BB is next to useless).
So I created a separate thread. I have since killed that thread and I am posting the question here now that I have stumbled on this one:
Is putting this link http://www.cafepress.com/oolite in the links page of Oolite's website really a good idea? Yes Giles should have the money. I am not saying anything against that. But as Oolite is really a derivative of Elite's intellectual property that exists because no one profits from it. Braben's could easily shut us down, after all isn't that what happened to Elite:TNK when money got involved? I just don't want to see us getting shut down.
If Braben isn't going to care about this tiny amount of money I'm all for it btw.

I also can't use the inbuilt search tool very well, however I find Google very helpful. I have the Google toolbar installed and I do a search using the following:PhantorGorth wrote:I looked for this thread using the search tool as soon as I saw the Cafepress link in the website but didn't find it (the search tool in the BB is next to useless).
Code: Select all
searchterm site:aegidian.org/bb/

Good idea JazHaz!
I took you idea and ran with it, and have made a browser search plugin that lets you use Google to search the Oolite BB directly from your browser search tool.

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
