I think I saw some of this, too, as a child, but did see much more of the less rare series of that time, like "Wicki" and "Biene Maja" and "Nils Holgersson".

So I got a point :) Is it my turn now to ask a question of something significantly obscure to be guessed at?

That's the idea: the winner asks the next question!

Okaaaay ...

My question is about a series which is a mix of SciFi and Fantasy, though:

That series features a guy who can travel through time and space for a top secret military project as an aside role, and its final episode was actually conceived as a cliffhanger but never got followed up, and in that final episode you see an old man's glasses whirling through the air.

Obscure enough? Guess away.

I'd say Quantum Leap but it just seems a bit too obvious for this thread.

The concept sounds a bit like Seven Days, but from the one episode I've seen of it I can't remember a "fantasy" aspect or travelling through space...

Is it Seven Days?

It's neither Seven Days nor Time Tunnel.

Hm, it's really obscure ... I will think of a further, not too spoilery hint then.

Might it be the terrible Sliders?

:? Is Sliders considered obscure? It's one of the -very few- shows I actually saw on telly...

I think it's obscure now, due to an unspoken agreement across most of human civilisation not to speak of it ... which I realise I've now broken. Sorry. Just pretend I didn't mention it. In fact, I don't think there ever was a show called Sliders. What are you on about? :o

I kind of liked it (1st series) - in the same way as pulling out forearm hair - just to see if it still hurts like it did last time...

I only remember I didn't really think it was that great, but that the other stuff at that time on television was even worse, and I was bored, heehee!

(I watch television rather infrequently)

OK, so the series I'm asking about had only two seasons, was popular in the beginning 1990s and the (possible) SciFi context was actually ambiguous (might have been meant as fantasy, too), but implied by the secret military research project that was a small aspect of the series.

And none of the above speculations comes close, yet ...

After 24 hours of shared ignorance by all of us, what about another hint?
