I sense a 'red light' moment approaching!

Enjoying. Keep it up!

Cheers,

Drew.

You'd be wrong - I have something much more sneaky than that planned!

Drew is referring to the potential plot device I inserted right at the beginning of the story - the gum covered red warning light indicating that the secondary manifold was out of spec...

Drew is waiting for me to write the part where the warning comes to bite him on the ass - much like the radiator hose did in the classic movie "Duel"

aha. thx for explaining - thought it was name of a general authorly plot device, not a specific red light with gum on it plot device :)

There will be a delay in the final part - RL(tm) just kicked me in the wallet - head gasket gone on my car's engine - too expensive to repair - not enough money in bank to buy a replacement - somewhat distracted - and not quite in the "zone"

Actually...I have a feeling that there will be a red light moment...but it will be that nasty "hostile vessel" light....

Don't rush it. Writing requires a right state of mind to be any good...that's what caused the long pause in my log.

Hmmm.. In my case writing definitely requires a 'state of mind', whether or not it's a 'right state of mind' is distinctly dubious in my humble opinion!

Cheers,

Drew.

A little editing - I expect the grammar hawks and typo tigers to descend sooner rather than later...

PS - Thanks JazHaz - perhaps Drew rubbed off on me...

Nice ending, DH.. very unexpected.. and you may just have invented a new piece of defensive equipment.. now all we need is somebody to OXP it..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
