On another board, we often just PM suspicious new members, it's working pretty well. Spambots just never reply! ;)
I think DaddyHoggy does this quite routinely, and hasn't yet received an answer from a spam bot.

The problem with PM’ing a suspected ’bot, is that a genuine new member may not be aware that they have a PM… you have to log-in to know that, and I think there are many genuine members who join, then don't log-in again for some time, if ever.
I’ve toyed with the idea of e-mailing suspects… I may start doing that, in future.

I do - and have a very full outbox - full of unread PMs. I may revisit with my new found powers...

Woo-hoo - bagged one myself - watched it join and post - so I nuked it from orbit...

Such a good feeling.

Move along people, nothing to see here, Candy doesn't post here any more.

Those are the sweetest… zap them as soon as they rear their heads… lovely!

Need a second opinion on this one... two hits on SFS, but I'm still not sure, as its posts seem okay:

A busy morning... three so far.

 I thought you meant on this site - apologies - as you say it looks OK - could just be the same name - this might be a sit and wait...

Suspicious: https://bb.oolite.space/profile.php? ... ile&u=3262

Very generic introduction, sig says 'hi' (seen that before on other fora, after awhile they re-set their sig into something more nefarious)

... Or maybe he just wants to learn English? :s

EDIT: D'oh!!!!
