Re: Released - the Cobra Mark III-XT
The maiden voyage of my brand new Cobra mk.3 XT! Granted, the reason I left my Cobra Courier is due to OXP's. To be frank, Random Hits and Galactic Navy are both CONSIDERABLY harder then the standard game. To the point where all of the stock ships are completely outclassed as you progress. IMO, it'...

{ "cobra3-trader" = (...) weapon_position_starboard = "40.0 2.17 -4.33"; }; "display_name" = "Ulster Dawn"; }; } Now.. I think I have one too many wee symbols in the script, but that is fixable.. I think it should be like this, but I could be wrong... weapon_...

Re: Observation on equipment energy requirements
But it says that military lasers are twice as effective as beam lasers which slice through 410mm FL metal. Unfortunately, further information is classified. When you want numbers you can look around line 4000 in the code for the playerEntity. It says: switch (currentWeapon) (...) } So the energy fo...

Re: Laser overheating, yawn ;)
It could be improved (pseudo-code-ish as I haven't had time to look at the code, but weapon_temp_per_shot must be retrievable from somewhere): For the military laser the heat-up per shot is 8. The highest heating up is the mining laser with 10 per shot. So when setting the cut-off at 85% the temper...

Re: Crosshair alignment
Hi, jonboy, welcome to the Friendliest Board This Side of Riedquat! To eliminate parallax, you have to align the laser with the view, and that'll require a quick bit of hacking - nothing complicated, really, it's simple enough that even I can do it... But remember, always make a copy of the file you...

Re: Sugestion for a new Docking AI
Currently ships go through waypoints, not racing points; but I think the underlying mechanism of racing points is waypoints anyway.(...) For me the main slowdown factor is that NPCs come to a virtual standstill at every waypoint. If that could be changed, and perhaps their speed factor be raised, d...

Sugestion for a new Docking AI
Everybody agrees the current docking AI is flawed. and something should be done about it... I'm not good enough to code this, but I have a rough idea to improve it that might just work in the right hands. If put in practice, it could allow for fluid and speedy autopilot approaches. 1) set destinatio...

Subject: An ability to role back the clock.
The 'save anywhere' bug that eats up time is explained in this post.ulaidian wrote:Same here.. I genuinely never noticed that with the 'save anywhere' oxp.. so when I have docked in such and such a place, the clock is still rolling?

I need a singularity . Doesn't Cap'n Murphy's Escape Pod Locator's beacon do something similar to what you want? That's perfect - it's precisely the kind of entity I needed, and it even includes much of the code required for my purposes. Thanks for all the answers; if my plans go well, soon I'll ha...

Re: Oops. I sold the cargo I was meant to deliver.
I used to have a spotless reputation, but suddenly started to mysteriously miss long haul contracts - while still very far away... Eventually I got wise to the Save Anywhere bug that ate up time, but by then I was only doing opportunistic short hauls.? save anywhere bug that ate up time. ? AFAIK, d...

Re: The Shipyard at the End of the Ooniverse. Modeller's b
I have a kind of a ridiculous request: I need a singularity . Not an event horizon like in a black hole, but something smaller than a dot, or a pixel, or a quark - what I really want is an immaterial 1D model... ...but then again, there's the difference between the ideal and the possible, meaning th...
