Hi All
Just stumbled upon oolite after exploring the add ons for Celestia which I had been given Celestia for my 50th birthday.
Well what find, almost exactly as I remember it on my old Beeb micro all those years ago except far better graphics. and free!! would have gladly paid for this.
I look forward to all the forthcoming battles in the quest to becoming Elite once again.
I havent checked out any expansion packs as yet, anything I should be aware of? any particular order?
2 days in and I'm hooked, this is bad news as I'll never get anything done now
What Fat Leaf said - it's all down to personal taste and PC capabilities when it comes down to OXPs - read the list - try a few - keep or discard. It's your Ooniverse...

Ain't that the truth... welcome aboard, Ebbo. As regards OXPs, go for eye-candy at first, then take a look at other types of OXP.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Explorers' Club OXP keeps a record of your travels - get it sooner rather than later, and avoid the frustration of your early career being undocumented.
Hi and welcome.
As has been suggested go for the eye-candy first. Good advice is to add OXPs singly or in small numbers. This gives you a chance to get used to them and find out what features they have and what they do.
There is no limit on the number you can use...it depends what you want, although be aware that some will substantially change game-play. Start simple and you can then (by adding/removing) tailor your Ooniverse to be the way you want it.
Enjoy!

I don't have an Addons folder just a " Documentation: and "Extras" folder, if I create an Addons folder and put the oxp file in it, will that work? or have I installed it incorectly ?
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.
Hmm, the 'Extras' menu item should be pointing at a folder already called 'AddOns', so all you'll need to do is drop the oxp inside the window opened by clicking 'Extras'!
It's probably better if we change that menu item to read 'AddOns' in the future...
Hmmm, normally the AddOns folder is created when the game is installed.
I'm a penguin, not an apple so can't really advise on mac installation, sorry. A mac wizard will be along soon hopefully.
Edit :- (Hehe, that was quick )
