Re: Screenshots

Yeah, it was just a wish to see lots of things happening around the main stations in game or out in the asteroid fields. I always liked those huge ships parked up by the stations in Frontier, I always imagined them loading or unloading cargo I think the plan of the oxp was just to write a few AI's t...

Re: Screenshots

Re: busy ports. If you look really close at the bottom screenshot there's these tiny 'claw' like ships, a bit like an upsidedown Y, these were going to spawn from the big train like ship which would park somewhere near the station. The tiny ships would transfer cargo from the big train ship over to ...

Re: Elite: Dangerous - first impressions

I really hope they get to implement some of the Kickstarter concept art in this game someday. Flying through gas giant clouds rendered at some imaginable scale or sitting parked at the elite2:frontier star port feeling the wind and rain rock the ship whilst looking up at the gas giant (merlin?) and ...

Re: Oolite 1.92 released on the Microsoft Store

Awesome work on the new release Devs, thanks for keeping us all going, and not even just that, all the work in the other threads bringing us into the modern age, it's really very much appreciated all the behind the scenes work put in just to keep things compiling and working whilst the OS's changes ...

Re: Globe and Torus station updates

That looks like something is clashing between OXP's, or maybe the globe is referencing a generic dock and oolite is picking the one from the current shipset - maybe back when the globe station was created the default shipset dock object was a different object. There's isn't a dock model supplied wit...

Re: Elite Amiga advice from 30-year-old me

Looking in my old C64 Elite 'Space Traders Flight Training Manual', in the Pilot's Log section at the back I just have: Date: 20th Lave to Leesti: Lave to Reorte: 2T Food 12T Food 1T Furs 2T Minerals 1T Gem Stones Date seems a bit vague, no further notes so I assume this pilot didn't survive docking...

Re: Playing Sid Meier's Civilization as Donald Trump

That rant against windmills in his meet the press segment up in Scotland this week got me fuming, saying how they spoilt the beautiful landscape and all the while he's been running down the National parks back in the US and opening them up to his mates to go in and start drilling and fracking. I can...

Drew's started a playthrough of Archimedes Elite

Drew's started a playthrough of the Archimedes version of Elite on his retro gaming channel, only one episode posted so far https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZObpX3hPtc After seeing him get repeatedly jumped by pirates (in corporate states!) when hauling just a few tons of food & textiles, Oolite...

Re: flat-shaded and low poly look for Oolite - Maybe the ArcElite oxp would suit?

It won't affect extra oxp ships though, just the default ship set

Re: griff SpecGloss ships

something a little bit different from the usual - another attempt at an ice asteroid! must be my 4th or 5th go at these - this time i used Modo's (a 3d app) built in procedural textures to displace and texture a sphere into a spiky boulder shape rather than try and model or sculpt it myself, worked ...
