The only time it's really hard is if you find a really big star (and possibly have no fuel injectors). I haven't even considered the difficulty factor without heat shields, if it's even possible at all. Obviously they would make the whole process significantly safer. :)

Nice work, I some how missed this entire thread. I think you've done yourself justice KW. Enough to avoid a severe kicking, and being sold into slavery on a hedonistic, love-servant asteroid. :D I do agree a touch with Comm. McLane's comments that at first glance it does look extremely similar to th...

'Legal narcotics trading'... tsk, tsk, what is the Ooniverse coming to.
It's people like you that give contrabandistas a bad name!

Agreed, the reason this is difficult is because the original game it's based on didn't have to worry about any of the things discussed here. Trying to bend Oolite to the will of multi-playable ships could well be a futile endeavor. Just to throw some random comments on the fuel-scooping fire (and th...

Grand Theft Auto 3 (or any in the series) is probably a prime example where cheating can potentially enhance/maximize the enjoyment of the game. However, I have completed the game without cheating so I don't feel too bad now about causing World War 3 in the streets of Liberty City. On the other end ...

...You should also remember that it's perfectly legal to buy narcotics... Sorry... I can't help it, I've got to... it's legal to buy it, it's legal to own it, and if you're the proprietor of a [coriolis space station], it's legal to sell it. Hi DrP, welcome. Nothing to see here! (everyone else has ...

Since you are the only person playing the game, it's not really cheating. I have two games. One where I played without editing anything and one where I completely trick out my ship from the start and change things when I feel like it. So you're saying you can never cheat in 1 player games? Yo...

Glasnost comrades! (Not really relevant but a good excuse to say it) This is good for Russia, I would expect their economy could do with the boost. Hopefully, they can put all those old, disused nuclear power plants to good use now. South Africa did a fine job for 2010, I have to say I had...

I hate to be a pessimist but it'll probably end up being something like scientists now agree that meteorite ALH84001 does contain remnants of bacteria after all. I guess that'd still be pretty profound as it would mean life once existed on Mars, but not really little green men type life we might be ...

I've never had any sucess altering save files, either on elite or in oolite, if i alter, the commander file disapears from my save directory within the game. never been able to add money. Are you using Notepad on Windows? Don't! That would be your problem. A proper editor that supports end of line ...

Homebuilt dektop from about 3 yrs ago. AMD 64 Dual core, 2.7 ghz, 2 gigs ram. GeForce 9500 GT video card with a gig of ram, SBLive 5.1 soundcard. I don't pay much attention to framerate in Oolite, but if it ever stutters, I haven't noticed it. I run quite a few OXPs, many of them eye candy. You los...

I don't know how useful/active this website is but I stumbled across it yesterday when investigating the logs of my own website: http://www.botscout.com Essentially, it's a database of known spam bots. I guess it's not that useful if these are actual humans registering. Anyway, thought I'd post a li...
