Well, I was wondering when someone to point out the Firefly-Elite connection. Both are universes where one has the freedom to do whatever one wishes. Explore, trade, carry passengers, steal, scavenge. Be good guys, be bad guys. Just keep flying. One of these days I'm going to scoop a container, open...

Well, I guess I'll weigh in with an opposite opinion. Best ship I've ever had. Cargo capacity for all but the largest jobs, tons of energy, good speed, not the fastest at cornering, but still does fine in dogfights. Fully equipped it can clear out an Anarchy system, blow up Behemoths and wipe the fl...

Sorry to kinda get back on topic, but why is there a 127kg limit....it's really annoying. Please don't go there. It's deja vu. Again. :x https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=1848 https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=1659 https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=1368 https://bb.oolite.space/vie...

I'd like to expand on this suggestion. The ship market, the equipment market, the flea market, the passenger market and the contract market are all places where one could grey-out options which are larger than one's carrying capacity or larger than one's budget. This would definitely help new player...

Schrödinger's Docking Sequence
I just executed a sub-standard docking (45 degree approach, with fuel injectors) and was greeted by the "Game Over" message, layered on top of the technicolour entrance animation. Due to an earlier misunderstanding with a Q-mine, I'm wanted dead or alive. But I currently appear to be both ...

Re: energy drain
BTW i remember original Elite cloaking device was highly energy consuming, as well as ECM. Now i can fly with it turned on all the time and i think it is not ok.. What type of ship are you using? It drains the energy banks of my Boa Class Cruiser in about a minute. But that's more than enough time ...

If that happened very low in the atmosphere then I can understand what happened: I have no code to show them landing, so they just get removed once they're low enough. Solved it. The Orbital Shuttles do fly the intended sequence -- unless you get in the way. If you pass in front of (or bump) an Orb...

Witch spacing on maps
If you fuel scoop while watching the hyperspace map (F6), one can see the whichspace radius bubble expand as fuel us brought onboard. Nice. It would be even nicer to see the radius bubble move and shrink as one executes a witchspace jump. I propose that if one is looking at a map when the hyperspace...

Looks like a reenactment of the old urban legend. US Ship: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the north to avoid a collision. Canadian reply: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision. US Ship: This is the Captain of a US Navy Ship. I say again, divert your c...

Fullscreen framerate dual-head
My Mac (dual G4, 1.25GHz, Tiger) has two screens. The primary screen is an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro in an AGP slot. Nice and fast. The secondary screen is an ATI VGA in a PCI slot. Slow. Not surprisingly when Oolite (any version) runs on my primary screen it's great, but when it runs on the secondary (or...

The game-code is faithfull to orginal elite by generating a small force of Thargoids in witch-space. But as Behomth.OXP is also putting a fleet of Human Cruisers in which space, the odds need to be evened up on the bug's side for a massive space battle! I must be missing something then. Whenever I'...
