Just a quickie...
If one were to find oneself in Thargoid Space, are a set number of Thargoids spawned, or do they just keep coming? If the former, roughly how many?
Disclaimer - I'm not at my Oolite PC (and probably wont be for a while), so I cant check the log file to see. I've got a vague idea for an OXP mission, and I'm just thinking how plausible / difficult it could turn out to be.
Ta Muchly in advance...

I don't know exactly as far as Oolite is concerned, but I'm 99% positive that for earlier versions of Elite (especially the Amiga one) the number of Thargoid ships spawned in a misjump is relative to the rank you currently hold.
So the better you are, the more bugs you get to squish.
For OXPs you can set the likelyhood of how many Thargoids will spawn in the script.

I can't remember ever seeing more than four Thargoids. Plus of course all the Tharglettes. Never seen a respawn, once they die, they seem to stay dead. Though sometimes they originally appear outside the initial radius, so they arrive late.
But this is just from observation, I've not seen the code.

Attacking a Navigational Beacon is illegal. Police are on their way.
