Re: Coyote's Run mission

Are you using Griff's shipset, btw? If so, the OXP is a little broken, and things may go awry. Aha. Yes, I am using Griff's stuff. Will take all that off, as I was not making any progress so far. Shame, as his work looks so good. No need... simply disable the Coyote's_Run_for_Griff's OXP within the...

Re: Coyote's Run mission

Only engage the cloak briefly (to start the mission), then uncloak, lock onto the Python, and follow it through the wormhole. Another ship (a Ferdie) will then attack you - force it to flee, then attack the Python and encourage it to eject, scoop the pod, then deal with the returning Ferdie. After ...

Re: Coyote's Run mission

Thanks, off to give that a try now. I was about to say the fiction was not playing out as expected. I will be a lot slower this time and see if another ship shows up.

Re: Coyote's Run mission

I'm totally stuck with this mission. **** SPOILER ALERT **** I've got to the start point, engaged the cloaking device and have seen a Fugitive Python appear on my scanner. Bounty was 150CR. I've approached the craft that has then jumped to Ririqu. The bounty now falling to 75Cr. I've done this jump ...

Re: Remove Messages in HUD

OK, thank you both. I will take a look at using a different HUD. I was still using the standard one as I liked the retro feel, however I think it may have run its course now.

Remove Messages in HUD

I've added a few OXPs to my game and now I suffer too many messages in my HUD during combat. I cannot see what I am doing and would love to remove some of these messages. Things such as incoming missile detected, ECM activated, target locked, bounty is xxx cr. A stream of these messages goes across ...

Re: I'm not sure I like 1.75

Hold on...all my fault. Got a new cheap second hand second monitor....its display lag  When I play on my primary screen in either version the issue goes. I was really scratching my head this morning when I recovered the game to a backup that was v1.74 and it still looked really bad! Silly monit...

I'm not sure I like 1.75 (Fixed)

Just downloaded the new version and took flight, thought things look "off", so I decided to fresh install and it still looked as bad. For some reason whenever I start to move all the stars disappear and the screen basically goes dark :(

Going to stick with 1.74 for now :)

Re: How do you get good frame rates in Oolite?

Most likely loading. Textures and sounds are loaded on demand (sounds will be preloaded in 1.75; texture loading is asynchronous, but you only get the full benefit of that for ships that appear completely out of drawing range). The first time a particular type of ship is loaded, its model needs to ...

How do you get good frame rates in Oolite?

I am sitting here playing the game on a Quad core machine. Overall CPU usage is about 60% and spread nicely amongst all my cores. My GPU has a temp sensitive fan, but it NEVER ramps up when playing Oolite. However, I do suffer some dropped frames and lag when near stations. This only happens with OX...

Re: SloOow me down

I think you would also need to take a look a missiles, thargons and turrets on ships if you are going to go down this line. It could be nice to make this into an OXP, if you have the skills and time, so that people can alter that turn rates of the whole game as a percentage. I too feel things move a...

Re: Missile question

I too have found that your flying style will determine the amount of damage taken by a missile. If you are unlucky and take on right on the nose even full shields and full energy banks will not save you. I was in my Boa (6 energy banks) and full shields. I laughed when a pirate fired a hardhead stra...

Re: Not always seeing Griff's ships

Looks like an incorrectly defined variable inside the script. I wonder if its because I have previously had the system installed. The next high tech planet I get to I will add the equipment to see if the error goes away. Still got the dodgy Boa flying around though :( I suppose this stuff is bound ...
