Re: Get Rid of Trumbles??
given the invention of "Lave fried trumble" (or whatever it was), once you burn them off they should turn into food you can sell. be a cool oxp that, be able to buy a trumble at the station, let them breed, cook em and sell em. chance of getting attacked by PETA ships included :-D Trumble...

Re: Good beginner trade route
Even though it's been posted before, I'm a big fan of the Tionisla/Isinor route. Relatively safe, and one can quickly iron-ass one's ship. Also with the Galnavy oxp, Isinor is a Sector command, so military missions are available. However, a reasonably iron-ass is required (see above  ) Just my...

Re: The Feudal States
I seem to be having problems with Feudal States v1.10 The duel system seems to working fine, but if I do a mission (tribute etc), it doesn't show up as a contract (on F5 screen) but it shows the mission destination on the galactic chart. When I make planetfall and dock, there is no acknowledgement. ...

Re: milk runs
I was thinking on those lines, from a 'retired trader/veteran... been there done that' perspective.
I was NOT thinking of a 'do this first/get this bit' etc., since I totally agree with your sentiments.
Mr Gimlet has a wealth of experience, but not from the pilot's seat

Thanks TGHC, I should have looked at Harry's post more carefully
My attention seems to slipping a bit

Re: milk runs
For a novice commander, I found the Tionisla (Ave. Ind, Democracy) <-> Isinor (Poor Ag, Confederacy) also very helpful. Low fuel requirements, safe worlds and quick to build up the moola (with Tionisla at TL12 you get most anything for your ship) If there's combat, I had no trouble with an under-spe...

Re: Your current employment in your Ooniverse
For the poll, I chose 'trader' since that's my main occupation...
but with a VERY healthy dose of 'vigilante' thrown in (mmm... bounty)
I'm such a nice guy

Re: Hi
Was Frontier's combat system that bad? (I haven't played it.) Was it the Newtonian system in general, or just the way Frontier did it? If it's the former, that bodes very poorly for Infinity. It was awful! Not just the 'turn based' combat mentioned, but with some ships you couldn't fire a missile i...

Monty Python... must refrain from quoting... 'pie Jesu domine... dona eis requiem' *whack* Ah... that's better. On the topic though, managed Elite level on C64 and Amiga versions. Currently, Above Average on Oolite. BTW, I noticed on EV's post, his screenshot has his ship's name on it. Sorry for the...

I'm with you LOCI... it's good to be back in the saddle, even after quarter century too! I have used the mining laser as an early option rear laser. For the front laser... doesn't cut it for me, beam then military. But it's a useful #2, plus using it for mining asteroids fill up that empty ca...
