Intriguing. I'm in favour of something that lets the player essentially acquire real-estate - all characters are currently pretty much homeless, and though that does have a certain romantic appeal, there's also something to be said (in my opinion) for options for a more settled sort of character. As...

Cmd. Cheyd: that was priceless, I nearly fell out my chair! Well played :D

(And when the mods, out of mercy, lock this thread, I'll start another to thank them for it :P)

Incidentally, is there any way for me to mark this thread as "solved", or can only a mod do that? I think you just edit your original post and add the word [SOLVED] to the title. :) I tried that before I posted my question - I can edit anything in the body, but it won't let me edit the ti...

Temperatures etc after witchspace jump

OK, so seeing as a typical witch-space jump takes several hours of in-game time, shouldn't cabin and laser temps be reset to normal at the end of a jump? There may be other such variables that should take into account the passage of time (though I would exclude Fuel Collectors from this - call it th...

Ah, thanks Eric, I will take a look, then. What I still find strange is the fact that an extended cargo bay was actually added to my ship (it's listed in the manifest), even though a Cobra Mk III does not start with one.

Cholo doesn't ring any bells for me, I'm afraid. Glad to find someone else who recognises Mercenary, though. I remember being blown away by the fact that you could walk, drive, or fly. I used to get a kick out of finding certain specific vehicles tucked away here and there. That city was quite larg...

I loaded a Griff normalmapped Adder - it has an extended cargo bay by default, increasing cargo to 17. Not sure whether that's entirely "by the book", but at least the shiplet is playable :P Hmmm, must check the Cobra I - maybe that one's also been enhanced... hmm, that doesn't sound righ...

That also works :) Or... the upper-atmosphere base might be there as a first stage in terraforming the ball - the bulk of the population would be employees of the terraforming institute/corporation, while the balance provide infrastructure and commerce. Or... a settlement could be primarily academic...
