Re: Father, I've done a bad thing!

Well, you *could* get a Caduceus Omega on the loan and lay waste to any gunship that comes near you. (Disclaimer: I have never fought a gunship, so I cannot vouch for the effectiveness of this tactic.)

Re: Hi

Was Frontier's combat system that bad? (I haven't played it.) Was it the Newtonian system in general, or just the way Frontier did it? If it's the former, that bodes very poorly for Infinity.

Re: Oolite on the Mac App Store....?

I was under the impression that Frontier didn't have too much power to squash Oolite if they wanted to. What gives them the ability to do so?

Re: Laser query and suggested changes for a military PCC

I always thought hundreds of metres was a pretty good scale for spaceships. A fighter jet-sized interstellar trader makes even less sense.

Re: OXP loading order

Nothing personally, but it seems like a sensible thing to add. Principle of least surprise and all that.

Re: OXP loading order

Would it be that hard just to add some code to alphabetically sort the contents of the directory?

OXP loading order

Why, exactly, are OXPs not loaded in any well-defined, user-adjustable order? It would seem like a relatively small change in the code for a great benefit to OXP developers.

Dammit! Well, time to ply my way to a less high-tech system which doesn't turn its nose up at all of the ships...

Well, yes, I understand that, but having a TL of 16 alone should guarantee a better haul of ships than Pythons and Wolves. Or am I missing something?

Unless it's a parallel universe (yawn - I hate plot devices)
But you yourself have used parallel universes as plot devices!

I nominate the Fer de Lance, not because it is in any way a decent combat ship, but because the AI is so stupid that I have been repeatedly killed by FdLs slamming into me on injectors. EXTREMELY annoying.

Turning wireframes on in strict mode does indeed do hidden-line removal, but it doesn't work terribly well.

Wireframe mode is a debug thing, as far as I know, so this is unlikely to be done. What you could do is make ship models that emulate the same effect.
