Okay, then it cannot be the only reason. I am actually using a customized version of the mentioned HUD and it hasn't been changed since before it started to happen.
I don't recall the exact changes I had made to the HUD, a diff program should be able to show them.

Re: Email System (Release)
ExtraLarge HUD with 10 MFDs and custom dials
from HUD selector
Is this "deliberately turns off the HUD" a relatively new thing ? (About as new/old as 1.84 ? I may have updated the game and the email system at the same time.)

Re: Proxima Centauri has an Earth-like?
Scientists call a planet already Earth-like if it has a solid surface, similar mass and size. Unlike science fiction where it means life-friendly. Mars and Venus are both Earth-like. And about in our sun's habitable zone. Earth-like means nothing, unfortunately.

Re: Email System (Release)
As soon as I enter the email menu over the entry in the station menu, HUD elements also visible while docked disappear, and I need to use key_hud_toggle after undocking.

Re: [Release] HUD Selector v1.16
It happens as soon as I enter the email system, so probably that's it.

Re: [Release] HUD Selector v1.16
Since my switch to the 1.84 branch, my HUD frequently "disappears" while docked. I have to press key_hud_toggle after undocking. It may just as well be an engine bug. It seems it appears primarily (or only) at main stations, and the longer I keep pressing keys to switch through the station...

Clearance revoked without chance to react
Sometimes, especially when docking while under fire, clearance is revoked just immediately before the tunnel effect. There should be some check that clearance is not allowed to be revoked that closely. There seems to be some check that ships don't undock while the player is too close (even if player...

Downloaded OXZ does not contain a manifest.plist
I started to get the above error when attempting to download or update an addon via the manager. Is this a temporary problem ? I suspect it may have to do with oolite version change ? I use a git checkout, now on 1.84 maintenance branch. 12:29:39.396 [oxz.manager.error]: Downloaded OXZ does not cont...

Re: Advice for running multiple contracts?
Hello. Recently, I've begun to do multi contract runs, but it seems to turn out bad a lot, with missed deadlines all over the place. Does anyone have any advice/oxps/techniques/etc that could help me and other aspiring contract runners? While mentioning all those short time suckers, such as docking...

Re: EU referendum and the zombie apocalypse
As a convinced European I'm feeling almost happy about the Brexit, as it means that the most problematic member that's been blocking things over decades will be gone. Principle EU criticism comes from lack of knowledge about what you've got with it, and from the lies Europe's right wing populists tr...

Re: Heat shielding values
to take the stress out of fuel skimming. Even with white stars (supposedly hot) I think I've most of the time been able to leave the star without jumping and without using injectors during the skimming process at any time. You need a fast ship, don't daddle around and hit jump drive immediately onc...

Re: IronHide OXP
The effect of ironhide isn't obvious, but if events are logged it becomes clear that it's a lifesafer, such as when hit by a missile in an Adder. About as useful as a shield booster. The repair costs is relative to the hide's costs though, and it's causing repair costs regularly whenever it's used (...

Re: The pain of flying an Andromeda...or any other big ship!
I would like to update you on my little "big ship" problem: I switched from the Andromeda with a low serial number (2.4) that was broken literally in every dog fight to a Dark Rainbow 9.2 (lucky me!) which solved most of my breakdown problems with the equipment thus enabled me to actually...

Re: Parcel Delivery
I always dock to look for additional contracts requiring the same or similar target systems. Pretty cool if you have 2 or more contracts with the same destination. However, what can be avoided, similar to buying or repairing equipment, is buying fuel, as that costs also 10 min each time. If the prev...
