Re: Planetfall OXP

A few times when taking off from a planet, ground control hail me with 'Do not attempt landing - your ship will be destroyed' and when I look at the ship status the 'Planetary Landing Capability' is damaged - although it was just fine when I landed there. I believe it's a feature, not a bug. missio...

Might be nice to make them run like real Eyetalians and blow the engine every 100km or so.

Oh and their arrival location is entirely random, so there's as much chance of one appearing in a next-door system as one on the other side of the galaxy. Funny stuff, chance. I can see for myself what you say is true ( missionVariables.stellarSerpents_currentLocation = Math.floor((Math.random() - ...

Re: Recommendations for Linux JS file editor

joe ( quo vide ) is one of my favourite editors. Does all the expected things, has an emacs-like mode for the perverts, & works on everything I've tried (also has a wordstar mode for those of us in the know ). There's even an alternate version (preferred here) from the wacky kids at the miros pr...

fronclynne, have you tested a more recent nightly?
Sorry about the hiatus.

Yes, it has been working fine since (I think it was) r4747. Now up to r4753.

Out of curiosity, is it just the crappy old graphics chip in this laptop, or what?

...0.8??? ...er, I think you may have gone a "little" overboard there... In keeping with their movie-based performance they should be quite fast (faster than a YT-1300 at sublight*), but turn like drunken cows on ice-skates. Also, a couple of times larger than any of the Naval Beh...

Re: Carrier Docks

You know, I remember asking the question, but almost don't remember that reply I made. I think I was on a combo of pain killers, and muscle relaxants when I made the reply. Kind of like answering a question when one is drunk. Still no excuse, and I apologise for my rudeness. Hey, now! I'm almost al...

What exactly is meant when something is termed "Redux". Zieman, you renamed a couple of things in this ship with "Redux" in the title. What did you mean by that? Just curious.

Yup, -4737 runs fine, -4738 gives "oolite: src/SDL/MyOpenGLView.m:220: -[MyOpenGLView init]: Assertion `surface != ((void *)0)' failed."

Re: OT - configuring XWindows

I'm not sure of the desktop interface though - I've gotten used to the 'cleanliness' of Gnome2 that Squeeze uses, so that may be good reason to give LMDE a run. Ha, "desktop"? evilwm & rxvt & xsetroot -cursor_name ul_angle -solid grey23 xset b 10 150 10 setxkbmap -option compose:l...

Re: WE ARE SICK OF THIS .plist EDITOR NEEDED

At college we used TECO . That made vi seem friendly. (Although, personally, I would rather pluck out my own eyeballs with a rusty fork than go back to using vi full time.) Then one day The Good Lord looked down on us lowly programmers and gave us WordStar 3. A word processor that could be configur...
