Ok, I implemented Cmdr James' suggested fix and it's appeared to have done the trick until just now - in a Communist System (with the Commies OXP) and I got the mass-lock bug again against a Commie Factory after launching from it. Considering the alert status changed from Yellow to Green once I was ...

I've spent an hour or so with it and came up with a basic implementation: Ouch! You sure know how to make a guy feel inadequate :) How do you mean it doesn't 'do' anything? The main idea was that once you've got docking clearance it would prevent other ships from launching within your docking windo...

Thanks - I'd gone through a whole bunch of diffs of various versions of eadupDisplay but didn't find this particular change. Furthermore, shouldn't Asteroids (or at least large ones if one has the Asteroids OXP installed) cause mass-lock as well? Perhaps anything which has a collision-radius above a...

Oolite 1.72 svn - mass lock broken?
Hi, I'm running my own compiled-from-svn-but-otherwise-unhacked copy of Oolite 1.72 (Compiled/running under Ubuntu) and quite often the Mass-lock won't disengage. Haven't found a magic formula as to when it 'sticks'. Has anybody else seen this? Any suggestions of where I should look to fix this? Com...

And of course you need to use your docking computer in order to hear the Blue Danube. A little off-topic for this thread, but in the original (C64) Elite the docking computer could run you all the way from the witchspace point to the station - in Oolite it only works in station proximity. Any reaso...

I've started digging through the code and it looks like this is already in the works based on the latest svn checkout. In StationEntity.m there's a method called acceptDockingClearanceRequestFrom which seems to implement bits of this suggestion, but it's not called from anywhere yet. Can I get a ver...

@Thargoid: I would see a long-range scanner as a more generic thing (ie, reporting back on number and types of ships) rather than mission-specific reporting. You'd still have to fly there and check it out yourself to get the detailed information. But at least you'd know that the ship-type you're hun...

Personally I'd like to see an option to only allow 'classical' ship armaments, ie, single lasers, non-turreted. Although thinking back to C64 Elite, the AI ships always seemed to have some sort of minimal turret as they could hit me without directly facing me. This was especially noticable on Boa's ...

C64 for me - forget which year. The copy I played was of dubious origin, so like a poster above, it took me forever to work out the 'j'umpdrive (a lot of keys just beeped and did nothing.. heh) And of course lots of keys did nothing until the corresponding piece of kit was purchased. Nowadays I do a...

apparently, every criminal is marked red on radar...doesn't have to be a pirate.Because it happened to me too that a ship turned red, but did not shoot at me...at least not till I engaged it. Hmm - not my experience. I've had lots of 'Offenders' quite happily fly by me and stay yellow on the radar....
