Re: THE DEATH OF OOLITE > ELITE DANGEROUS
Also, as a Mac user who doesn't want to purchase a copy of windows to dual boot from, I will probably just carry on like dangerous if it never happened. Or not. We'll see. But remains that oolite is an awesome game that runs well on Macintosh.

Re: The "Jayne's Hat" - Fox Merchandising debacle
Who cares about Jane hats? What I want is a Intentionally-Badly-Knitted-Orange-And-Yellow-Hat-That-Totally-Has-Nothing-To-Do-With-Firefly Hat.

Re: Finding bars and landing sites
If you are looking for bars, I highly recommend the Carnal Pleasures Bar at Erbiti. It is right by the witchpoint beacon, and their Uber-Grog is to die for.

Re: Buying a Mac
I can relate. I would love to get one of those clamshell iBooks, even if only for word processing and emailmaaarcooose wrote:Not sure why, but I've got a real hankering for an old mac like a G4 12" macbook, an iBook an original iMac or a cube or something like that.

Re: Buying a Mac
My main Oolite computer is a old PPC eMac with 1 gig of ram and Oolite runs fine. It won't do certain intensive oxps or shaders or anything, but it runs smoothly. Especially when considering that this is a six year old computer. So I figure that if you can use a computer in day to day life, you can ...

Re: Rear view frustration/solution
Or a co-op type thing where you fly the ship while a friend operates the turret and/or missiles! That would make it possible to do complex maneuvers around ships to avoid being hit while also shooting down opponents

Local Multiplayer?
This probably has been talked about before, but it's a cool enough idea I think do bring it up. I realize that it would be difficult to make Oolite multiplayer, partially because of the time system. But what if it was local multiplayer around a single system? You could take a single system and fly a...

Whats with the stars?
This probably is remarkably simple, but I am going to ask it anyway. I have a deadly rating with 2000 some kills. The other day, some stars appeared around the word 'deadly' on screen five. Besides being pleased with the snazzy militaristic decor, I was puzzled. Do these stars mean I got a certain n...

Re: Introduce Yourself.
Hi, I never heard of Oolite or elite until earlier today but I just downloaded it and I'm enjoying it immensely. I will probably be playing it lot from now on. First day and you are already on the forum? Nice. 8) Anyway, welcome to the friendliest board on this side of Ridequat! That was fun to say...

Re: Trumbles anyone?
Well, I altered the shipdata.plst file to correct the bug (I view it as a bug) of the NPC Adder having 5TC of cargo space and the player Adder having only 2. So I give it 5TC the same as the NPC. Just enough room for a passenger berth. I then go running passengers about taking out any miscreants wi...

Looking forward to trying this oxp out. It reminds me of "the train job" from firefly.
