I've been playing this since Feb but recently got really bored with it. So when one of my neighbours (who also happens to be a work colleague) decided he was gonna raid one of my towns I decided to retaliate and threw everything I had at him. He very quickly learned that 5 separate very large armies...

It was to make way for a hyperspace bypass.
Which, depending on which version of the story you're most familiar with, probably never happened.

Nope. That didn't work. However, I use a program called The Unarchiver for all my compression stuff and until now it has never failed me. I tried using the OSX built in archive utility and that worked a treat. I can't understand why Unarchiver failed. When I originally downloaded 1.71.1 it worked fi...

Problem with 1.71.2 archive

Been trying to get the latest version (after somehow losing my previous install) but whenever I try to unzip it I keep getting the following message.. Could not extract the file "Oolite (v1.71.2)/Oolite/Oolite.app/Contents": Could not create the folder I've tried on two separate machines b...

I remember my mate from school telling me about this new game that he'd got for his birthday that was really like flying through space. "It's like being in Star Wars" he said. Several days later we were doing quite well and determined to be Elite before the end of the summer holidays. One ...

I really like the idea of it, and having removed several ships* from it (most notably the Star Wars ships) used it for a while. The problems I have with it are the ones already mentioned in this thread ie the non-standard behaviours and the sheer size of it. I love the idea behind it of having a bet...

Yeah, was a bit braindead when I posted that. Apologies for asking something I did actually know the answer to.

A PM will not appear in your sentbox until the recipient has logged on and the message transfers to his/her inbox. Until then it stays in your outbox.

What a superb oxp. I'm very tempted to start a new game so I can play this properly. I'm just loath to lose my kills/ranking. The money isn't a problem cuz I can just go and kill some innocent traders and steal their goodies :D

Did the Earth move for you?

Anyone UK based feel last nights earthquake? It hit here (Creswell, Derbyshire) about 1ish and lasted about 10-15 seconds. Shit was bouncing round all over the place. When it wakes you up and you're half asleep and can't process things properly it was bloody scary. [edit] BBC news Quite a big one fo...

The only thing that I'd like to see in this oxp now is the ability to accept more than one hit at a time. For me now, the rest of the game has gone out of the window as all of my game time now is taken up with tracking down and liquidating naughty people for lots of money. I freakin love this oxp. C...

Then yes I do. Thanks for clearing that up :)
