That's what I call a clear and simple answer ;) Thanks.

Nevertheless Oolite as a massive multiplayer game would be cool. Probably not something we'll see tomorrow ;-)

Pluging in a trade simulation

Hi all My project http://sourceforge.net/projects/interstella/ is still slumbering in early development state... well, anyway, when I designed it I had things like Oolite in mind. Mixed a little bit with Ports of call and company simulations of all sorts. It's planned that way that any software migh...

Bringing slaves in to a main system station isn't a crime; the only penalty you'll get for carrying certain types of cargo is if you launch from a main station with slaves, firearms or narcotics in your hold. Which means you have to sell the slaves if the captured/saved eject capsule passangers som...

If they are insured you already get paid by their insurance company. If they are a criminal you already get bounty. I tried it out now. Before I dumped them when it said "Slaves" in my cargo repository since I expected to be arrested as a slave dealer right after docking. Regards Peter

Yeah, true... somehow It's not funny to look at your icons and know I can't upload mine. But as regular internet users we are used to get punished for stuff some kiddies have done, right? Hillarious spam fighting techniques, unreadable captchas even if you are already logged in etc. are daily compan...

Oh, well, I didn't know that there's already something to avoid automatic slavery for saved pilots. I was looking for threads about freeing slaves but didn't find anything... probably searched the wrong keywords ;) Well, liberation stations... would be quite time consuming to travel there, dock etc....

Free slaves

I sort of miss an option to free slaves. I know it's not original from Elite... but neverthless I hate it when you safe a guy out there in space shot by pirates and all you can do is selling him as a slave or kick him out to space again. For me that could be a feature for F4 while docked. Press F4 a...

The first idea reminds me to one of my first websites. It was a collection of 3D-pictures (POVray) with clickable areas (image maps) leading to other pictures. The main theme a spaceport, some possibilities to take a taxi and go into the city (where some pictures were only pencil sketches - after so...

Why not just press F4 on stations?

Hi Wouldn't it be far easier to just make "F4 while docked" a "free slaves"-switch? Thinking of bringing them all to the local authorities (Police) which means you get a bounty for the pirates and you might even get something for/from the other ones. It might be included as a gam...

It does not seem to be memory - the amount of consumed memory doesn't seem to go up during the split second oolite is running. I guess it's more likely that it doesn't work well with the graphics card. I would be surprised if the Trident Cyber Blade did never hear anything about openGL. When I insta...

But could this cause a segfault? It's more about seeing it run under FreeBSD than about really playing it ;-) I have it smoothly running on a modern machine on XP (one of those "vista-ready" things) and sort of running under Linux ("sort of" because the graphics card is junk; S3 ...

FreeBSD: Segmentation fault: 11

Hello all Starting oolite does the following steps (shortened since I have to copy it manually): initialising SDL init: numSticks=0 CREATING MODE LIST Added res 800 x 600 added res 640 x 480 Segmentation fault: 11 What is it trying to do when it crashes? Still scanning the graphics card or moving ov...

I made the same error. Read the message shown after installing the port (I made "make install clean" which made it scroll away). The trick is to start GNUstep using /usr/local/etc/rc.d/GNUstep.sh start and running oolite using /usr/local/GNUstep/System/Tools/openapp oolite. Regards Peter
