I have tried MANY times to dock with a dredger...all unsuccessfully. Sometimes they just keep on going, right off the scanner. Other times they start doing loops. Got so ticked at one I attacked it. Blows up nice... Try using Shift+C (if you have docking computers), and then type C again to cancel ...

Chaff and Flares?
We've got the ECM for standard missiles, but the only defense against hardheads is a combination of fancy maneuvering and injectors until the missile runs out of gas. How about a second anti-missile defense, dropping chaff or flares to redirect a hardhead, once you discover to your dismay that ECM d...

I'd be happy to stick this in the JavaScript branch. That one should compile up on a Mac more easily than the textured planets branch. So if the original author is still visiting, PM me and we'll organise how to get the code over to me. Hooray! I would love to see this! Does not even have to be sta...

...or EMP shielding. You can't use the bomb unless you have this fitted. It also protects you from other ships' EMP blasts. High tech NPC ships can have it too. It shouldn't be too expensive, but only available at very high tech shipyards. I wouldn't have total immunity, just a higher chance of pre...

I'd like to add something like this. And the damaged equipment code. Cmdr Drayton, you still visiting? I second that... I've been looking for the code somewhere - or hoping that Cmdr Drayton would post it - so that I could make the modifications myself (if it's not going to be released as an OXP). ...

If you've got USB Overdrive X installed on your Mac, then it's really easy to configure any USB joystick for an OSX compatible game - I use a fairly expensive MacAlly iStick, which is really nice, but a lot more expensive than the previous contributor's idea!! I have an older USB Sidewinder joystic...

it has been, and there is even an unofficial version out there that has this AND highlighted cargo. Giles never got round to making it official though and I can't remember who it was that did the hack. Wondering if this ever came about. Cmdr Drayton did an unofficial hack version (see this thread: ...

Re: damaged equipment in the status screen
In scraps I keep getting various bits of equipment damamged, but I could never remember what got hit. So I thought I'd make damaged kit visible in the status view, here's the result... http://people.surfaceeffect.com/pete/random/oolite-006.png This is what comes of me downloading the code and havin...

Re: How can I add this HUD to another ship?
I'd really like to add this HUD to my ship (currently a SuperCobra), but I don't know where to drop in the reference to the .plist, or where to place the modified hud.plist file... can anybody post a "how-to"? 1st option: If you are using Win or Linux, the easiest way to do that is to sim...

Thanks Wolfwood... I actually am using MacOSX, and I figured out that I had to change the read/write permissions on the main config folder to make changes there. Once I got that figured out, I was able to simply make a backup copy of the hud.plist, and then copy in the Cobra3-hud.plist into the dire...

How can I add this HUD to another ship?
Good point, Murgh. I changed it a little for the released version, but I must also say that the image above looks worse than it really was because of the resizing... Still, the new version of the HUD is available at Oosat2 (http://oosat.alioth.net/node/50) and the package also includes a version fo...
