It would be possible to re-re-write the audio code to use OpenAL to allow for multiple speaker set-ups, Since the Mac sound code is quite broken, I intend to rewrite in OpenAL after the next stable release (for all platforms, to reduce redundancy). Positional audio should be quite simple, and the h...

With regards to possible music; I'm thinking lush / easy listening. Fitting the theme, not setting the tone. But ofcourse, different people have different taste so the end user can always disable stuff, even if it's as simple as just deleting some files. Or with a custom(izable) install package. But...

Works here! Winxp pro sp2. So playing a music fike is possible for menu's. Is it also possible to stop it when i.e. another theme starts playing? I did see something mentioned in your code so i guess it works that way too. Looping sounds is unsupported though afaik, so that option will have to be ad...

Seems like a good idea to me. I have sometimes when I had a very fast ship tinkered with the pitch- and role-rate in its shipdata, simply reducing the values to make it handable more precisely. Sounds like a good idea indeed. I've often felt that the movement of MSX's Elite was different to Oolite....

If Ahruman (or 3rd party) ever programs more abilities for sound emitting in Oolite, i would be glad to help out adding sounds. I'm positive Oolite will have so much more immersive effect on players when there's a audible sense of life to go with the rest of this sublime game. I'm on the pc myself s...

Positional audio and ambient sounds.
Over half a year ago i asked the dev for options regarding positional audio and ambient sounds. Positional audio means that when a ship passed you on the left side, and it emits some engine sound, you will also hear it passing on your left. Basically positional audio is the most important and from i...

Question about addons in 1.69.1
Installing 1.69.1 on a new pc and i want to add something new to Oolite. I've never used addons other than dwcobra3.oxp and Lave.oxp and these seem to work in 1.69.1. Will any of the following give problems with this Oolite version? -Behemoth.oxp -BehemothSpacewar.oxp -tgy_dev.oxp (Graveyard) -Thorg...

Another oldskool Elite player. I saw it once on my friends C64 and went out to get it for the MSX asap. It was on tape. I still have the complete box standing on the shelf in the living room, for everyone to see. ;) Still playing Oolite every now and then. Actually once i start playing i can go on f...

@ Zeep. Once you've bought it go to the Galactic Chart (F6 twice). Select your destination and then press ! (shift+1) and the path to your destination will appear. I understood that but what i was wondering is what the use is of that. Do i then see a line drawn in the Galactic Chart from one point ...
