Following my problems with immunizing entities against cascade weapons with

I got curious about the amount of damage dealt by the cascading explosion. So I change the above code to simply log amount, with interesting results. While the overall tendency seems to be to start with a value close to 1000 and then to decrease from there, there is also some very erratic behaviour going on. In this example it starts rather in the middle of the logged values (apologies for the long listing). There is even one lone 18317.56640625 somewhere.

I got curious about the amount of damage dealt by the cascading explosion.

I also. A quick look shows that the energy damage is not a constant. The update code for an energy blast (with a lot of lines deleted) is:

That means at least that the energy damage is dealt every frame. And with a high fps rate, the energy damage per frame is smaller. And in time, the damage per seconds increases.

The observation that the values in your list first increase and than decrease, clearly shows that fps rate is first dropping because if creating an increased number of explosions. Than at the end of the blast, the fps rate increases and the energy per frame decreases again.
