Hey all.

I've been looking for an apropriate coloursceme for an outback law-enforcement vehicle... it seems black and white is the preferred sceme.

Now my question:

I have seen a variation in sheriff-shields, there are 5-pointed, 6-pointed and 7-pointed stars and shields.
What would be most suited for a confederate sheriff?

My own preference goes to the 5 pointed star in a circle.

US marshalls and some state troopers use 5-pointed stars with a circle round. The film Police Academy used 5 pointed stars.

It all depends on what you are designing these things for: what country or even what factual or fictional universe.

I think that Oolite uses six pointed stars for galcop vipers.

UK cops don't use stars - they use crests.

Babylon 5's Psi Cops used the Omega greek letter...

And so on...

As I stated: a more confederate type of police.
They have a different take on thelaw than those federal galcop liberitarian know-it-alls. ;)

As the Galcops use 6points, I think I'll stick with 5.

Noooooooooooooooo!! Not Police Academy!!!!

Couldn't you have referred to the Lone Ranger instead????

I voted for 7 stars, just to be awkward and to see ifit could be done.

Love the idea of a different system vessel!

love the grille.

maybe you could try out a paint job substituting the black with a dark gray, so you get less of the "disjointed parts floating" phenomenon..

cool stuff, Beuford.

Offcourse, I'll need to create quite a few entries and skin-copies to make sure you don't see matching numbers too often....

Sevenstar is no problem, besides not looking as good as the 5points, same technique I used to make the 5pointstar;
draw <shift>auto-shape(7corners). newlayer, select points (pentagram order) with polylasso tool, use fill, and presto: a star.

høhøh.
this hick vehicle has six miniscule plumes from its rear?
kinda fruity aintit?

seriously,
are you sure about making several ships with the only difference being the number?
it makes an oxp more heavy than it need be, and it doesn't guarantee you won't get duplicates with just a small group anyway..

I'd recommend avoiding numbers altogether (how about a bar code :D) and use the saved effort to include deputy/marshall variant models instead.

this isn't outworld section topic stuff

It started out as such...I kinda highjacked my own thread. ;)

I was planning 2 plumes, it's the manyfold you see? It needs to be cleaned everytime you return from a patroll, so we hicks use a thrust- diverter-grille instead.
Or in technical terms; a whatchamacallid-thingabob doodad.

Yep, that would be another request for ol' mister bossman: decals/transfers. Already been posted though.
