Oolite Bulletins

EDIT/UPDATED: Competition runs to the end of FEB 2012. Please post up images on this thread .

Folks, time to press on with the Alien Items coverpage competition. Rules are simple.

1. Design a cover page for the upcoming Oolite anthology 'Alien Items'
2. Ideally should reflect an aspect of one, more or some of the stories featured in the anthology (list below)
3. Should be available in png format at a resolution of 1650x2550
4. Link a low res jpg here on this thread for viewing
5. XXXXXXXXXXXX
6. Go!

Winner will get to see their work as the cover image for both the hardcopy and ebook formats. Runners up will have their images included in the ebook.

not read any of the stories, but willing to take a run at the cover if i'm hit w/ an idea - can you do as last time and give a list of key scenes or something?

Hardcopies are produced on demand at 'cost', rather than being 'free'. No profits are made (for obvious copyright reasons) but there is still a cost to creating the paperback.

Am I the only one thinking that there should be the new Oolite icon on the cover? — Oh wait, there we have another competition still open...

Sorry Drew, I didn't make myself too clear, my suggestion was: maybe the person who produces the winning design could be sent one complimentary hard copy, but again, just a thought.

Anyway, good point about the no profit bit, we might have to go back to the drawing board about point 8!

Just to prevent possibly misunderstandings: I wasn't serious about point 8.

Epic space battles featuring a battered looking but surprisingly potent Cobra Mk3
Graffiti on Cobra
A Lizard held captive on a freighter
An Adder crash-landing near an ancient Cathedral
Captain Hesperus at gunpoint, trading, crashing etc
Trumbles eating through wiring
A somewhat scantily dressed young lady and her new ship
A generation ship
Coyote brandishing his ancient projectile weapon (read pistol)
A mad professor jumping into witchspace

Folks, RL has driven a coach and horses (ha ha ) through my plans once again and I'm not going to be able to complete this until the new year. I'll extend the competition into Jan - so get drawing!
