Mac Advanced Mice/Touchpads

Post by GrinNoCat »

Seems like flight control could benefit from the swipe and scroll functions available on the new mice and touchpads available for the Mac. (I haven't loaded this up on my MacBook Pro so I don't even know if you can use the touchpad in mouse mode...I may have to do that later)

Perhaps using swipe to control yaw and scroll for shifting view from forward to back and vice versa.

Would it be a significant project? Could it be done with an OXP instead of root code?

On a personal note: It's been over two decades since I played this game - and I have been obsessing over it for the last two days. I thought I was clean from this addiction years ago...and now I have fallen from the wagon and am wallowing in the dirt!
If you take the cat away from the grin you are simply left with a :) .
What?!? Of course all cats are  ! What a stupid question. :P

There should be a utility out there that translates the new gestures to keypresses for programs like Oolite. If not, you'll have to code the new mice/touchpad stuff directly inside the root code.

You cannot simulate keypresses via oxps, and you definitely cannot access the computer operating system from an oxp, both things you'd need in order to achieve this feat via oxp... ;)
Hey, free OXPs: farsun v1.05 & tty v0.5! :0)
