Hi orangetree, and welcome!
You entered the Oolite application bundle. Go back to Oolite.app (highlight that with the cursor keys and press ctrl-return). Then you should see a list with (..) Oolite and Contents. Go back one more step by highlighting Oolite and pressing ctrl-return and you should probably be back to where you were.
Alternately, leave fullscreen mode (cmd-f) before you agree to load a new Commander. Then you get a regular OS X file dialog window.
As suggested in the other thread you can also start Oolite by finding your save file in Finder and double-clicking it.

Hi orangetree,
As a very minor Mac wizard (a wizardlet, a wizardling??), I've been trying to replicate this and cant seem to.
For me, no matter if I'm browsing for a saved Commander from Oolite or browsing using Finder, ctrl+Enter doesn't do anything - what OS are you using?
As was suggested on your other thread, try using Finder to locate your Commander and then double click on it to open Oolite with those saved game details.
..and looking at your original thread, you say that you pressed command+Enter, although that makes no difference to replicating it as that doesn't do anything for me (OS 10.6.4).
Edit: Darn, ninja'd by a more major Mac wizard!
