Gamepads and such

I know this has been broached before, although I think the last time it was for a different platform. I am using Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 and can never seem to get the right configurations working under Linux. Does anyone have a working configuration that you might share with a struggling commander?

Are you trying to get functions on gamepad buttons beyond what's easy with the in-game control configuration utility?

The problem that I am running into is that once the gamepad is engaged, a couple of things happen. First, I am not able to use any of the keyboard commands (for instance, "I")... I checked to see if I had assigned that function to a button, but I haven't. The second issue I will check after I remove all of my OXPs and see if the issue remains.
