would love to get start playing it again
the only reason i stopped playing it in the first place was because
i upgraded to windows 2000 then XP and it was near impossible to get it running

Not Oolite related, moved to Outworld.
I am not aware of any such attempt. The closest I can think of is Pioneer (see https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.ph ... ht=pioneer and follow links from there), which has potential to be ported to Mac, but this has not happened yet as far as I can see.
