Can someone please refresh my memory, as it’s been quite a while since I encountered him.
When Captain Carruthers first introduces himself, is he from Her Imperial Majesty’s Space Navy?
... or is it Her Majesty’s Imperial Space Navy?
I favour the former… am I right?
The follow-on from that is… when did it morph into the Galactic Navy (if indeed it did)?

A Captain Carruthers question
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Re: A Captain Carruthers question
There's no canonical answer to this, but I've assumed that the (or at least a) full, official title of the Navy is "Her Imperial Majesty's Space Navy" – it's just not commonly referred to in that way (like people talk about "Britain" or "the UK", but almost never say "the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland"). Since Carruthers and co. use the full title in the game, though, it's obviously still current. In the Rough Guide I put the titular Empress on a moon of Lave, but there's no necessity to stick with that. There's no reason why there couldn't be several different regional versions of who the "Empress" is: or maybe "Her Imperial Majesty's Space Navy" is a title that only humans use, or perhaps just a subset of humans. The Navy is I presume the military arm of the Co-operative, although again exactly what that means, and who is in charge, is also open to interpretation!El Viejo wrote:The follow-on from that is… when did it morph into the Galactic Navy (if indeed it did)?
