And with just 45 minutes to go (here in the UK) - I present my friend John Chapman, author/creator of Jonnie Rocket, X-wing pilot (New Hope) meets Darth Vader I mean David Prowse

Awesome photo DH, I love David Prowse's Bugs Bunny tie!
Did you say John Chapman is one of the x-wing pilots in the first film? how cool is that!! :D Does he get as far as the trench battle at the end or is he shot down before that? I haven't watched Star Wars for ages, i'll have to have a big watch-them-all-in-1-day fest next holidays!

Sadly the scene of him in the cockpit was cut from the final release - but he's in the briefing room during the discussion on how to attack the Death Star plain as day - I've got a still somewhere (I may have already posted it before...)

Fanfic has subsequently given him the title Red 12: Drifter - as there was no official title given to his character in the credits

fingers crossed, he may still turn up in the cockpit yet, i'm sure i read somewhere about another edition of the film coming out at some point - with loads of previously unused footage bundled with it in the extras - maybe for some sort of blu-ray release i think
