Oolite Bulletins

Has anyone attempted to see if Oolite works with 10.04? I was just wondering if the test release would work, and maybe even the nightly trunk builds.
Once i figure out how to build from source then I will try from scratch,

EDIT: Just installed v on my eeepc 900a netbook running 10.04 and it seems to be ok so far...

I have, It's working great, no problems so far, so now to confuse myself and try building from source,

Trunk works fine on Lucid (presumably all other versions too - haven't personally verified..) and I'll add a Lucid profile to the Debian build server this weekend so current versions will be available from debs.oolite.org soon.

I tried it, and my computer actually crashed. I'm building it from source, now.

I meant, trunk compiled on Lucid works on Lucid. I didn't try the autopackage version, although it should work since it provides its own dependencies. If it crashes, please post Latest.log and any additional output.

Update: adding Lucid to the debian build server will unfortunately have to wait until next week as I forgot to enable remote access...

Build always from sources.

For Debian based as Ubuntu, it is very simple as the Oolite project provide debian directories.

Here the plan :

1 ) unpack the sources where you want to work.
2 ) change directory to the unpacked one.
3 ) rename debian/changelog.in to debian/changelog
4 ) suppress the first entry of debian/changelog
5 ) use dch command to update versionning and edit the changelog file.
6 ) run dpkg-buildpackage to compile the sources and build the packages
7 ) install new packages with 'dpkg -i ' command

It is clean, it is great, it is functionnal.

Or, if you don't want to muck about with editing the changelog:

1) Unpack sources
2) Enter source tree
3) Run "make -f Makefile pkg-debsnapshot"; packages will be generated in parent directory
4) Install the new packages using dpkg --install

I can't simply do thing like this as my mother forbid it to me.

Note : You must have a source tree with svn tags for this to work correctly.
