Problem:
When i go nowadays to the shipyard, all ships have like...
20 items of equipment thus and are far too expensive for me to buy.
I remember a time, when i had Griffs ships installed and there
still where "empty" ships with just one or two things installed,
yet they where normalmapped.
I fiddled around a bit ( i am far from calling it a bug as it is most
certainly my own fault, brainglitch so to speak ), but... it totally
escapes me, how i might have done it.
Is there some setting for that i have set/unset and then forgotten
about it?
Problem: no buyable, empty ships anymore [SOLVED]

Thank You!
That was it indeed.
I thought, it only determines the chance to see that ship in the
shipyard.

As often, the Elite wiki is your friend and explains it to you.Yrol_Denjeah wrote:I thought, it only determines the chance to see that ship in the shipyard.
Generally, if you want to dive into the inner workings of Oolite (and especially into its scriptable parts), all (!) pages listed on the Oolite_scripting category page are recommended as bed-time reading.
Oh, and welcome to the boards!

Thankees °smiles°
Would it not be useful, to keep the system more open for future
developments, to keep those two settings apart?
So it could be set a chance for the ship to appear
and detached from that, a second chance for it
IF it appears, to be a stripped bare version?
Which i think, would be the logical way how they are made available,
for several reasons, one being the ability to BE actually bought
by people who aint millionaires, the other being the ability
to decide on my own, what goes in at this time.
Regarding future developments ( my head really sometimes
explodes from all the ideas i have ( or in this case, others had ))
It would allow for a system where we can order a ship with
specifically chosen equipment.
Even further down the line, it would scan the surrounding systems
for their tech-level and allow the inclusion of parts not available at
the current station for a fee.
°grins° I am aware of course, that this
A: would allow pilots to fly less through the woonderfool universe
B: destroys a bit the fun in hunting down those pesky rare parts we want.

Well, that's exactly what you do by buying the basic ship and then adding whatever extra equipment you need, isn't it?Yrol_Denjeah wrote:the other being the ability

And I do think that having your ship pre-configured to your liking would take some of the fun out of the game. Besides, if you buy a new ship at a high-TL station you have instant access to all the equipment there is.
