Taking off from planet

Post by Alex »

Hi,
Seem to be having a problem taking off from planet surface, more than 50% of the time as soon as the ship hits space it blows up!! Very upsetting.
Have no idea why. Was wondering if anyone else has been having the same problem?
Version 1.73.3 on XP. Ship is a caddy omega. Though it has done it with my super cobra too.

You have an older version of the planetfall OXP which had a bug in it. Toss it and get the most recent version.

And the current release version of Oolite is 1.73.4. It would be a good idea to upgrade Oolite as well...
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Well, sorta. Planetfall.oxp lets you get reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaal close to the planet, then you dock instead of going *splat* 'press space'.

BTW, welcome to the friendliest board this side o' Reidquat.

Although a laser duel breaks out on occasion. Be prepared to hit the deck. Kidding!
