7-Zip works just fine for .RAR archives. It's also free :D

I'm a windows guy, so I don't know if there is a Mac version

As mentioned by me before, TheUnarchiver does the job of decompressing these archives well. If you want to make 7z-archives on the mac, though, there's 7zx
.

All credit goes to Sung, he designed the original textures.
I never had installed Sungs textures so your modification was my first encounter with them. They looked nice in game, but today I saw a few models spinning in the shipyard. Awesome :!: In the shipyard you could look better at them and the shaders do really add a lot of extra beauty to the surface.

I cant really take credit for that, all i did was the normal maps and glows/etc, the base textures are what really make this shine. W/o them this oxp wouldnt exist :P

I learned about this one only now.

Probably I thought it wouldn't work for me with my lameass computer (no shaders and generally way too old), but it does, and nicely so.

Looks really good.

edit : actually there is something really odd/ wrong with the shipyard.plist - for some ships it asks the usual price (e.g. Cobra3, Python, Boa), for some it is like the RS prices or whatever other extremely low prices. (e.g. Cobra1, MorayMed, all ships not available in the vanilla Oolite like Krait etc.)

Currently the readme and Wiki article read as if the oxp adds only "paintjobs" but it adds ships/ enables NPC ships to players and messes with the pricing. :?

OK, no big deal to "fix" this (delete shipyards.plist), but I think it should be mentioned somewhere. I have no wiki account, so can't change it myself.

(Actually I think me myself I may go for editing the prices instead of just deleting the shipyard.plist :P )

edit2 : Duh! that was dumb from me - all ADCK ships have the low pricing, all core ships have the core pricing - it was just that the first shimarket I visited had an odd spreading of what was offered.

I've created a fixed version of this OXP to remove all the Logfile errors and suchlike as ADCK has indicated he will no longer work on OXPs here as per this thread.

Also, it fixes the prices of all ships to be the same as the core ships, and removes
player-versions of ships which are non-playable in the core game.

(Temporary) Download Link:
Shady Sungs V1.2

Changelist:
. Convert all plists to NextStep format
. Shipyard: sanitise all prices to Oolite standard and remove
all ships which are not originally playable by the player;
making non-standard ships player-ships should be the premise
of a separate OXP.
. Shipdata: many small fixes
. Add Info.plist and Requires.plist

Credits to Sung (Original Textures), ADCK (shaderification work), SimonB (shader code).

Nice work Micha.

I still get an odd pain in my memory cortex when anything involving Sung turns up...

Nice one Micha.

There appears to be a couple of typos in the shipdata.plist entry for the rock-hermit subentities, which are pointing to the original models/textures rather than the ones from this OXP. Also the same for the dodo dock subentity.

Also any chance of an alternative version that replaces core ship set, rather than added alongside them? (I've done it for my own copy, but others may appreciate it).

Thanks Capt.Murphy (not just the note above, but also for your help via PM); v1.3 of "Shady Sungs" and "Shady Sungs Replacement" now available. The latter replaces the core ships.
