As per the topic in Discussion, would it be possible to have an alternate HUD when docked? this wouuld/could be more like an interface puter screen to simulate being hooked into the trading service etc. it would/could allow for more elaborate in-flight HUDs too.

This topic, to be exact..
A flight/combat HUD does not make much sense whilst docked, even if it wasn't functional and was purely cosmetic, something more germane to the trading interface would seem appropriate...

Interesting idea, but it will have to wait until after MNSR...
Btw, while it doesn't sound too bad in principle, we simply don't have a docked interface thang to put in place of the HUD. If anyone could produce a prototype design or two, it might help tremendously for the upcoming post MSNR gui overhaul...

Kaks, very nice to hear that
a) you will still be around dev-wise
after the MNSR watershed
and
b) already have plans to make the game even more interesting after that!

specify any width/height restrictions etc and people can get started.

Simples: superimpose the standard hud image, and at no point it should be higher than the top of the standard radar, to allow for sundry messages to be displayed properly.
Width: no particular restrictions, afaik!

Cool! Might be an idea though to keep the missile pylons display up when docked though, as you do need to know what you have mounted when you're swapping / buying missiles on the F3 screen.
