Disappearing HUD bug.. errr, not really

Post by Chaky »

(Win XP, goes for both trunk 2447 and 1.73.2)

If you pause in-flight and press O while paused, the HUD will disappear for the session.

It's supposed to, that's one of the debug keys. Press N when paused to get it back.

All debug keys are here, although I just had to add "o" to it as that one was missing from the list.

It's how you get pretty screenshots like these without a lot of faffing about (along now with the use of the new time compression/expansion feature).

Didn't notice the lack of HUD until you pointed to the obvious... (and I tend to be proud of my perception )

Still, why the same key isn't used to bring back (or toggle) the HUD is beyond me.

Edit: Just managed to notice that you posted a link, which explained allot... there goes my perception again... I need a bigger font.

If you're on Mac, ⌘-+ is your friend.

(And I guess there will be something similar on other OS.)

Cross-platform solution: pulling chair closer to the screen.
