still dangerous?

Post by harry747 »

hi.

as i was approaching 1000 kills, i was expected to be rated deadly as i hit 1000. but that didn't happen. then i thought maybe i get rated deadly at 1024, but that didn't happen either. now i'm at 1030 and wondering WTF is going on. how many kills do i need to become deadly?

To quote the reference sheet, that comes with the game (hint hint, RTMF)...

Harmless 0
Mostly Harmless 8
Poor 16
Average 32
Above Average 64
Competent 128
Dangerous 512
Deadly 2560
Elite 6400

(and there are ranks above Elite, but you can find those for yourself).

So you have some way to go yet.

Darn it and I was content to sit back and take the long approach to becoming elite in this version ( so far only at 2800ish on the current main commander with very sporadic play), now someone goes and moves the goal posts... Ranks ABOVE elite?

Ah well Ive got to complete the current diy project before I get serious game time again and can get back to oolite, and I had been fancying dropping back into middle earth (lotro) for a while, and theres the sims3 which ought to be good for a weekend sometime.

Of course I should be carefull about complaining about a lack of time for leisure, the company I work for is looking very very shakey, Im one of the last few members of staff remaining...

If you want the rank that badly you could always nuke the cemetery.

Better cause a thargoid fleet to use their thargons and then energy bomb them ;)

Quirium cascade them. It's more fun to watch.

From a safe distance, mind you.

Erm ... seriously? I mean, like in, there's the rank shown on the F5 screen and it gets something else than Elite if you came far enough?

Don't want to know what they are called if that's true, just want to know if you're serious.

If yes, brilliant idea btw :D

No, not seriously.

Call it a little light relief after a stressful day. Oh and living up to being the bad guy and seeing if people were awake

there was some talk about higher ranks.

I jokingly suggested that double the kills for elite should be oolite, and then ooolite, adding an extra o for each time. That didnt happen, and I dont think it ever will. Elite is meant to be the peak, and as you can see your number of kills, you can set your own targets after that :)

I personally wouldn't mind seeing more ranks in-between HARMLESS and ***ELITE***. Below Average and Very Deadly are the first two that come to mind.

Do I recall somewhere that the term Archangel was banded about for the Elite of Eliteness, or did I just imagine this?

IIRC it was for commanders who rescued people from a station where the sun went nova...
