I may have mentioned that my Radeon blew up last week and is about to be sent for repair. I've got a bare-bones old GEForce thing in my gaming rig as cover. If I install VMware under vista, then set up an Ubuntu 9.04 virtual machine, then run Oolite on it, it still looks better than on just Vista using my Radeon!
Might try Oolite PC on Wine under Ubunto on VMware on Vista next - in fact I wonder, if that works, could I under wine run another instance of VMWARE and see how many recursive russian doll patterns I need to go through before the nebulae look as bad as they do on my radeon under vista.

Re: My Radeon
When you eventually have statistics for this experiment, send the results to Micro$oft (and ATI)... I'm sure they'd appreciate the feedback!Governmentyard wrote:I may have mentioned that my Radeon blew up last week and is about to be sent for repair.
