well, at least it's new to me. i was in the short range chart, and for some reason i pressed I. the planet names were replaced by a series of symbols and a number for as long as i held I down. i can guess what the number means, but the symbols? is there a list somewhere?

Numbers are the tech level.
There are symbols for the economy type and the government type. If you compare the symbols against the planet information you'll quickly work it out!
