LOCALHERO V1.05 possible problem

Post by Ensa »

Hi,
I have been playing LOCALHERO V1.05 oxp in oolite version 1.72 for a while now and although I often get the initial message upon docking a station with the instruction to go to f7 screen and wait for more info I have never had anything happen when I get to the f7 screen - sometimes I have waited for as long as it takes to go and make a coffee - just in case of a timer thingy or lack of patience on my part.
Also, I tried to configure it with OXPConfig v1.06 and OXPConfig claims that possibly that version of localhero is not compatible.
I have had this same issue with every commander I have tried, including a number of commanders from harmless to dangerous in galaxies 1 and 2, I also tried it with and without a few other f7 screen changing oxp's such as famous planets in case there was a clash.
I have tried it with and without OXPConfig installed.
So there ya go.
I have searched the wiki and BB and found no hint that anyone else is having this issue, so I post it here.
Any ideas?
E.

Yes, it is not working in v1.72.x.

I'm using some ways in that oxp that are not working anymore and already started to rescript the whole thing to implement a lot of new stuff and to use more common ways. So please take it out of your AddOns folder till the new version is ready. This will take a while. Sad to say this, but I've had not enough time to prepare it for v1.72 (some other oxps have had to be done).

I'm not surprised.-) Nothing has changed and it is mentioned on the WIKI. So better take it out - it will need a lot more time to re-script/model/texture/shader this baby than thought.

Hi

i have been reading a little about this oxp and it sounds really really good.

however, one thing which is maybe a little unclear.

will i have to be in Galaxy 1 to start this oxp when it is eventually fixed or will it work in any?

when i complete all the galaxy 1 missions i will look toprogress for the other missions however i would hate to miss out on this one.

great work, look forward to the fixes :)

Oh, do the other missions - you'll have the time without missing this one. LH2 has nothing to do with the old version, unfortunately some important workarounds are not working anymore (e.g. my performAttack fix based on Entity.ID), so I have to find ways around it. And the new one is a monster, the main script is currently 84KB (~5000 lines) and you can imagine that this will need some time and some other oxps have to be prepared for v1.74 too.

Hope I can start working on LH in the next days again.

It's still meant as missionpack for beginners up to dangerous players, so it's only active in the first 5 galaxies.

If I can get it working again, I'll think again about it, but that's the current status.
