Ships with turrets
Can anybody from the forum suggest me a nice ship with turrets (if possible not something imported to oolite from another univerce like the falcon.oxp)
Now that they work for player ships I am dying to see them in action

And the really nice thing about the Liberator is that of course it's quite Imp. Courier like and therefore doesn't look that out of place either!

You know I hate all those oxps that bring ships from another universe therefore I have never installed them neither I am planning to do so, but this is the beauty of oxps in oolite. If you do not like them you do not install them

Had a look for you @Liberator ... problem is, seems no longer to be downloadable, isn`t on the oyp page.
Problem Nr.2: You can only fly the Liberator as far as I know if you have Realistic Shipyards. I made it buyable and flyable and the viewscreens actually workable. In Liberator.oxp there was only an NPC version.
If you don`t want RS but a flyable Liberator version, I can cobble one together from RS, if you want me too. Or you give RS a shot
Cheers, sorry for no better options available (I think)

Oh, you're right! The original OXP had no player-version. I guess I added it when I did my player-turret tests (and because I played with the thought for a little while to use it as my ship).
By the way, I ultimately gave up on it as a player-ship, because it's too big for docking bays. Scratches and stressed shields every time you dock. For me a big show stopper.

Yeah, it screeches its way in. The worst RS ship in that respect is the Deep Space Dredger. It fits in barely. Probably dents the docking slit every time. When testing that one, I usually did SHIFT-D ...Commander McLane wrote:By the way, I ultimately gave up on it as a player-ship, because it's too big for docking bays. Only solution I can think of would be to have some alternate docking method for really big ships, until then, I`ll use what is already there.

Still wanting a player ship with turrets, that fits in a docking bay with no problems? Look here.
