Corrupted Radar display

Post by NattyFido »

Most of the time my radar display is corrupted. It seems to be drawing triangles instead of the normal gradation marks. Occasionally it corrects itself, ie. when I lock onto a target and intermittently when injecting Witchspace fuel.
I don't know if it is because I am using 'onboard graphics' or something else.

(I am not online at home, but will post a screenshot when I can)

Hi, NattyFido, and first of all welcome to the boards, and of course to this great game! :D

Display of odd triangles is most definitely a graphics-cards issue (we've had that a couple of times already).

Try installing the latest drivers for your graphics card and see if it helps.

Oh, and it would do no harm, if you would tell us your system specifications and the version of Oolite you are using. Usually this is very helful in hunting down bugs and problems.

I'm not at home at the moment, but I think it is 1.65.
My system is a 2.0GHz P4 running at 1.8GHz, 1Gb DDR, onboard graphics and sound.

Our overall experiences with onboard graphics are not overwhelmingly good, so I still think that's the source of your problem. If you get home and post the exact specs, perhaps there is a board member with the same or a similar configuration who can help.
