Back do Cmdr Jameson after crash.

I encountered an other annoying bug with 1.71. After a crash I always end up as a new commander Jameson at Lave. Or, none of the play- testers of 1.71 never crashed (unlikely), or this bug is also dependant on other things. I tried it also with no installed OXP's. The same behaviour. Strict mode was not enabled.

On a mac G4 under OSX 10.4.11

Or maybe because it is not a bug.

It is a feature and from what i know it involved a lot of effort.
Also this feature was buggy until the last week before the release of 1.71. Kaks did 3 or 4 updates in order to fix it

I don’t actually know why this was done; I wasn’t paying attention at the time. Possibly reverting to last saved/loaded wasn’t working properly? Kaks? another_commander?

I don't know why this was changed either. I never touched any of the player reinit code. Frankly, I thought it started after one of your changes, Ahruman. I can check when I get some free time. When I saw it first time I was puzzled myself, but thought you wanted it like this, so did not bother too much about it.

I was also wondering, when I saw it mentioned in the release-notes of 1.71 (yes, it's there, under "Miscellaneous/Game over changes"). But I thought, "well, if it's in the release notes, then it has to be intentional, and somebody has done it for a purpose".

I reckon he forgot to save and kept playing untill he saw "press space commander"
