Generation ships
Does anyone know where to find the Generation Ships OXP? The Wiki turns up an upload page I've seen some pictures on this board and I would like to see one in "real life".

Captain Hesperus has it. He provided a download link in another thread with the same question.
And unfortunately it can't be uploaded to the wiki, as there is an upload limit of some 2MB, and genship.oxp is bigger than that. (Well, what do you expect? Generation Ships are bigger than that! In fact they're bigger than anything! )

Benevolent as I am, I have readded this to Box.net and made sure that it is exempt from any future pogroms. And I'm not even charging......
Get your Generation ships here
P.S. As per the thread posted above, I still haven't added the lost text file. Text file added, again my apologies to Draco_Caeles

Methinks there never was a text file. At least my download from Oosat 2 (revision 1) had none. It was just the OXP, not contained in a folder with any text file. There was, of course, the description in the node of Oosat 2, and this may be lost and gone forever...
BTW: The author is Draco_Caeles and has recently returned to the boards. Maybe you can persuade him to do a readme?

We could always ask The Cap'n to pay him a visit!Commander McLane wrote:BTW: The author is Draco_Caeles and has recently returned to the boards. Maybe you can persuade him to do a readme?

I just had an idea (yes, happens sometimes), and payed the waybackmachine a visit. Et voilà: there it is.
At least the teaser on Oosat's main page. (The link to the node is not archived, unfortunately, and leads to the current node with that number, not to the Generation Ships.) But it is at least more than nothing. Here it comes:

@C_H: With this--and the information that Draco_Caeles is the author of the OXP--you could create a small readme and add it to the download site. And linking the whole thing to the OXP page would be nice, too, of course.Draco_Caeles wrote:Shadows from the Past
Space holds many mysteries: all spacers learn this, some sooner, some later. Ships take off from a station and are lost without a trace; some are wormholed across the galaxy, or even between galaxies, leaving the pilot stranded; some pass through witchspace in seconds and have aged a thousand years, the ship's crew aged to dust on the consoles.
And then there are the legends...

I added the link to the ship-oxp list at the bottom of the page as well.
