Game crashing at Aronar

Hi.

Ok I usally have no problems at all with the game crashing.
However I am currently taking some cargo (contract) to a planet called Aronar.

Each time I hyperspace the the system the game will crash sometime between arriving and flying to the planet. The time taken to crash varies.

I assumed that one of my oxp's was faulty, as I downloaded a few new ones last night, however as a test I deleted ALL my oxp's (except the Zz-Oo-Haul one because I am flying a L-Crate frieghter).

The game still crashes at Aronar.
I have delivered contract cargo to other planets before so I guess that is not the problem.

I also looked through the stderr text file to see if the error was in there but to be honest I couldn't make much sence of it.

If I post the contents of the file on here, would someone be able to see what the error is?


EDIT...
Never mind. I deleted the stderr file then started the game again with all oxp's installed.
This time I got to Aronar without any crashing.
I only tried it again because I was going to post the contents of the stderr file on here.

Glad I made it. Wouldn't want to miss out on 2400Cr due to not being able to deliver the goods.

Hi, elite, glad you made it, too!

However you should always report every crash, as this is extremely valuable information for making the game more stable. But don't do it here. Have a look at the Testing and Bug Reports-section of the board, especially at the Problem reporting guidelines-sticky. There Ahruman has not only posted an email-address to send your report to, but also listed all the information you should provide (e.g. the stderr-file).

If you happen to notice bugs on your way through the Ooniverse feel free to post them in the Testing and Bug Reports-section as well.

Ok, it's not the right place to report this, I know, but I'm bumping it because now this is happening to me! Maybe one of the mods might want to move this thread to Testing and Bug reports.

I've been tooling about the Ooniverse with a new Commander, doing passenger runs. I'm 3/4 way through a nice long-haul run with 3 passengers that ought to net me close to 40,000 Cr. I've dropped one off at Eninre (my last save-point) and am on my way to Leesti for my next drop.

Every single time (5 times, so far) I try to jump into Aronar from Aesbion or Isence Oolite crashes to the desktop during the hyperspace sequence. There does not appear to be any useful info in the logs.

OS - Win XP Pro SP3 - fully patched and up to date
CPU - Intel P4 Dual-core 2.8GHZ
RAM - 2.0 GB
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce 6200 512 MB - Driver version 6.14.11.9562 (latest)

Will do.. that occurred to me too.. but you may notice that this problem was originally reported in Sept 2007, long before that oxp was released....

Hey... whaddaya know... taking out Feudal States stopped the crashing.. :mrgreen: I put it back and BAM! crashing again..

Bummer.. I knew it had a few probs, but that one's a show-stopper.

I wonder what caused elite's crashing, back in '07?

By the way: this is a known problem with Feudal States which has been reported a couple of times in the last few weeks.

They were different. Yours happened on entering the system. This is the moment when a large amount of ships are added. The '07 crash happened some time after entering the system.
