Mutabilis Chapter One - Status Quo Sequel

Post by drew »

Here you go folks.

Progress is slower as mentioned, but hopefully you'll enjoy this story as much as the last one. Let me know what you think.

For newcomers, you'll probably want to read 'Status Quo' first (link in signature) otherwise a lot of it might not make sense.

Mutabilis - Chapter One

I've also set up a wiki page for Mutabilis

Cheers,

Drew.

Damn fine writing, Mr Wagar!

Why do I get this horrible feeling you're going to bugger up a lot of my half-written stuff?

No worries though. Keep them coming!

Glad you're enjoying it folks, I'll cook up chapter two as soon as I can.

Hope you picked up the back handed 'Elite' reference and the nod to Isaac Asimov... 8)

:At Selezen - I'd love to see what thoughts you had on the whole Raxxla thing, I've tried to stay true to your chronology and the original 'Dark Wheel', but my story is not going to jive with Jason Togneri's Darkness Falls. That took away a little too much of the mystery surrounding Raxxla for my liking - not that it's not a great story in its own right though!

Cheers,

Drew.

Very promising beginning! I'm eager to read more! :D :D :D

BTW: Noticed one typo, top of page four of chapter one:
Inside all three passengers experienced a sudden sensation of drag as the Adder suddenly became an aerodynamic flying machine as apposed to a small rectangular brick falling out of space.

Initially it was planned to shut them down gracefully, but the cost of working on the planet become prohibitive ...
became
so he no idea where he was going
had
the ablative heat shield did its work/quote] you said the adder didn't need maintenance after atm. reentry etc. but ablative heatshields do need replacing after being used... better use ceramic tiles or metallic shielding something like that, heavier but reusable lots of times. (not fiction)

Waiting with baited breath for chapter two :D
