...what do people think? feasable? worth doing? just thought it would add a bit of depth in systems where you might *expect* to find corrupt cops :)Corrupt Cop wrote:Hey, you there, you look like you could use having less legal troubles, so we here at the [planet name] Police Department are prepared to let you pay a...*ahem* fine to have your legal status reduced... Corrupt cops OXP idea?
hiya, i had an idea for a simple little OXP, if it could be done (which from the little i know about OXPs seems very possible), of having corrupt cops in certain governments, anarchies, feudals, dictatorships etc - the idea being that if you're an offender or a fugitive and go to one of these systems, when you dock there'd be a chance of a corrupt cop approaching you in the station (ie, a text screen), offering to let you pay a bribe (something suitably high, 500 or 750 credits, or half/two thirds of whatever you have if you don't have that much or something, but less than an escape pod, perhaps even a random figure) in order to lower your legal status, and if you say no, there would be the (non-bluffing) threat of many vipers (10 or 15 or so) awaiting your exit from the station - something like
Like the idea...
Speaking for myself I'm always v happy to see ideas that add fundamental depth & variety to the game.

You have no idea how much I envy you that skill...:sigh:Commander McLane wrote:Yes, it's going to be one of the features in Anarchies.oxp. Not yet scripted though, cause I am working on other parts of the OXP right now. But when I sit down to script it it'll be done in less than half an hour.

Actually it's not even that difficult. Have you ever tried? Studying the wiki and some existing OXPs should give anybody who is capable of logic thinking a good start.Captain Hesperus wrote:You have no idea how much I envy you that skill...:sigh:Commander McLane wrote:Yes, it's going to be one of the features in Anarchies.oxp. Very good point, high risk corruption, or being turned over for a small fortune would focus the mind a littlelolwhites wrote:It'll be nice to have something else to do with my credits once my ship is ironassed.

You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

There's a few things I can do, but...
- My brain refuses to understand the co-ords system for some reason...
- I can't script worth a da*mn! Don't know why - can do AI ( and the other bits ), but if I put it in a script.plist it all turns to poo!
